•Form is a three dimensional shape, such as a cube, sphere or cone.

and 3D design are about creating forms.
Edward Weston:
Edward Weston took a photograph of a pepper as he has manipulated the light. The way the tone is conveyed it looks like two people inter twined together in an embrace. This is due to the muscular forms that are present.
Jonathan Knowles:
This image that Knowles has created obviously took time to create, I believe he did this as a majority of the population is female and stereotypically women like flowers. Also the form of a pyramid is appealing as our eyes register light/tone and they actively search it out in everyday life, by showing it clearly is is aesthetically pleasing; the use of analogous colours is also pleasing as the colours are different shades of the same colour.
Brain storm:
Before I went out to take photographs, I brainstormed ideas for Form so the photographs I took were relevant and related to my image bank photographs.

Images that need improvement:
9678.nef:
This image need improvement as it was out of focus as we were trying to photograph bubbles. The bubbles were very hard to photograph as they are translucent, they pop upon contact to anything and they fall to the ground quickly because they're made of heavy liquid. The shutter speed wasn't fast enough and the camera wouldn't focus as they were translucent. If I was to take photographs of bubbles again I would float them on water so they are stationary and the camera will be able to focus.
9688.nef:
This image is of a skull-shaped shot glass so it is a relatively small object. I was experimenting with the flash on my camera but as a light box behind me was turned on my shadow is in all three images I tried to shoot. If I was to do this again I would either connect my camera to the light box or turn it off so there is no light source behind me.
My best Images:
AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.
For all the images I used a Nikon J 2, the settings were on auto as I am unfamiliar with the different camera settings.
I have selected these images as I like the different tones of the shape as it is made of glass and glass is supposed to be transparent. My main idea was to take photographs of glass objects as they are innately see through and will allow me to manipulate them in the studio. Glass work also relates back my research into the photographer Jonathan Knowles as he mainly focuses on geometrical shapes or things that have been frozen and shattered.
These images came our as I expected, I especially like the skull shot glass as you can see all the details clearly and I like the shadow trailing behind it. Knowles uses shadows in his animate works to portray the depth of the object in the image.
To keep the camera still I rested my camera on the table so it would also be level with the glass this allowed me to avoid any camera shake.
AO2: Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops.
I used a Nikon 1 J2 for all of these photographs and shot RAW files, this will allow me to subtly change the image before I open it in Photoshop and produces a higher quality image than jpg.
The setting for this image are and ISO of 400 as the image was both bright and dark at the same time, an exposure of 1/100 and F4.5. Similar settings were used for the other images in this shoot.
To improve my images I imported some of them into Photoshop.
To start as this image was a RAW file I was able to edit it before opening it. I lowered the exposure and contrast to bring out the reflection, and I lightened the image again by raising the whites.
Then I opened the image.
I then changed the image to black and white to enhance the shadows further.
I then changed the curves to darken the image and bring out the shadows.
This is the final image:

overall, a good series of still life images have been produced where form is expressed through use of high contrast lighting and glassware. there is a need for you to edit the images by cleaning up (specs and other artefacts). The layout of the blogger is becoming brief. You need to align the images and text in the AO2 section analyse the images created.. (refer to example blog structure)
